Common name: Pacific Monkeyfish. Scientific name: Erosa erosa. Family: Synanceiidae.

Pacific Monkeyfish: There is not a lot of information about this fish. It is stocky fish with a large head and a distinct bump on the nape.

It looks dangerous and it is – it has venom glands along its back.

It grows to about 14cm in standard length.

In Australia it is known from off north-western Western Australia, around the tropical north of the country and south on the east coast to northern New South Wales.
