Australia is home to over 600,000 species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. Sadly, we also have one of the world’s worst mammal extinction rates. We need to chat about biodiversity.

For biodiversity month, the director of the Atlas of living Australia, Dr John La Salle, is hosting a live Q&A session on our Ustream channel at 2.00pm on Thursday, 6th September.

He’ll be talking about Australian plants and animals, so if you’ve seen something interesting or have a question that’s been bugging you, this is your chance to ask an expert.

You can ask questions on this thread or email them to biodiversity@csiro.au, before tuning in on Thursday to find out the answer.

You can also join the online conversation during the event by following the @CSIROevents twitter account and the hashtag #biochat.
