With Australia’s new Marine National Facility research vessel Investigator arriving in Hobart next week, there are plenty of excited people waiting to put their hand up for a tour of the vessel…

…but we need you to hold your enthusiasm a little longer.

When the ship arrives it’s going to pull alongside and we have some obligations to meet around customs and quarantine. Because there are formalities that need to be in place, we won’t be having a big celebration that day.

The official Welcome to Port Celebrations for Investigator will be held later this year.

As soon as we have more information we’ll let you know, because you’re all invited!

We’re going to throw open the doors of the CSIRO Marine Laboratories in Hobart, so you can wander through the main building. There will be lots of scientific equipment on display, kid’s activities with CSIRO Education, and on the wharf you’ll be able to see the ship up close.

Sounds great doesn’t it! Can’t wait to see you all here!
