This free event spans the globe. Your hosts will be Dr Edward Gomez from Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGT) and myself,  Rob Hollow. Edward will be at the LCOGT headquarters in California, USA controlling a 1-m optical telescope located at Sutherland Observatory in South Africa whilst I will be at CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science headquarters in Sydney, Australia. The event is organised by Astronomers Without Borders and complements their earlier session showcasing the Northern sky held on 27 July.

We’ll be showing you some stunning celestial objects including galaxies, globular clusters and nebulae. You’ll see how we control the telescope, take images and learn more about the objects. It will be a Google+ Hangout via YouTube and you’ll have a chance to ask questions via the chat window. Please join in.
