Ologism, Australia’s leading science rock band recently brought their talent to the famous Parkes Observatory. While onsite they broadcast a live online performance in front of the dish, played to a packed house in the dish café and recorded their latest music video clip for their song ‘SKA Man’.
The song ‘SKA Man’, lyrically explores the potential of the next generation of radio telescopes, including the Square kilometre Array (SKA). The Parkes Observatory plays a key role in the development of technologies for the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) telescope, so it was fitting that Ologism chose the famous dish as the backdrop for their new video.
Ologism is Australia’s first and most successful science rock show, featuring original rock music and science demonstrations live on stage. The Ologism team have worked together since 2003 and is well known for innovative and energetic explorations of complex issues of science, technology and engineering.
